I focus on the structural dynamics and function of polypeptides, particularly intrinsically disordered proteins (IDPs), membrane proteins and photoreceptors. I develop protein engineering tools, especially amber suppression technology, to site-specifically introduce labels and chemical handles into proteins. For my research, I apply a plethora of methods including spectroscopy, diffraction, scattering, computer simulations and theory.

My research interests focus on the investigation of biomolecules, especially proteins, their structure, biomolecular recognition and non-bonding interactions with small molecules. To study these phenomena, I use computational methods ranging from quantum mechanics of small fragments, through molecular dynamics and free energy calculations of extended systems to data mining on large sets of structures.

I ma involved in the REP-RAYT project, its goal is to characterize interaction between ssDNA REP elements and their associated transposase called RAYT. My aim is to study that interaction using biophysical techniques.

My research interests are focused on molecular biology, protein engineering and biophysical techniques. In my Ph.D. project I am involved in developing genetic code expansion technology to site-specifically introduce non canonical amino acids into the proteins especially photo-active transcription factors and employing vibrational spectroscopy (IR and Raman Spectroscopy) to study their molecular structure, biological functions, and potential applications.

My Ph.D. project is focused on optimization of recombinant protein production. I am developing special N-terminal tags fused to a desired product. These tags should enhance the protein production while still maintaining its native conformation. For this purpose I am using a DNA library coding different tags and fluorescent reporter to analyze the protein production in vivo using flow cytometry.
